Planning for Adult Life is a statewide project provided in partnership by Community Access Unlimited and the Arc of NJ funded by the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) to assist young adults with developmental disabilities and their families in charting a life course for adulthood. We offer a variety of resources including Informational sessions, webinars, and resource guides/materials that address the following core areas:
- Postsecondary Education/Employment
- Entitlement Programs and Eligibility
- Legal/Financial Planning
- Health/Behavioral Health
- Housing
- Self-Direction
- Building/Maintaining Community Ties and Friendships
- Planning/Visioning a Life Course
Steffen Klenk is a South Jersey photographer and author. His work is regularly featured in print and on social media. Steffen is also a speaker and an advocate for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Mr. Klenk was recognized by the Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce as being one of their award recipients of the top 20 under 40, recognizing excellence, leadership and the remarkable talent of local young professionals. Steffen was instrumental with implementing the Blue Envelope Program in Cape May County. The Blue Envelope Program was created to facilitate safer and helpful communication between police officers and individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) during traffic stops, providing those drivers with a blue envelope containing essential information and instructions for law enforcement during a traffic stop.
