Students design and build a protective capsule for an “egg astronaut” using everyday materials.
The program introduces physics principles, problem-solving, and teamwork. In addition, students practice financial literacy and budgeting by using their teams “STEM Bucks” to purchase materials from a mock STEM shop, encouraging strategic decision making, teamwork, and resource management before testing each design in a drop challenge. Best for grades 5-8. Younger children can attend if their caregiver assists.
