Plankton Big and Small: A Peek at What Lies Beneath
Every time you swim in the ocean, you’re surrounded by thousands of plankton – of all shapes and sizes! At this presentation, we’ll discuss why plankton are more than just a TV character, and why they’re so important to the ecosystem. We’ll also meet animals that start their lives as plankton and look at a live sample through a high-powered camera microscope.
The Wetlands Institute strives to promote appreciation, understanding & stewardship of wetlands and coastal ecosystems through our programs in research, conservation, and education by:
- Teaching people of all ages the value of wetlands and coastal ecosystems for the survival of life on earth
- Conducting cutting-edge research regarding wetlands and coastal ecosystems
- Encouraging stewardship of these ecosystems worldwide
