Join us for a 6-week course all about wellness -
March 14: What is Wellness: We will talk about what wellness means and explore the eight dimensions of wellness: physical, intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual, financial, occupational, environmental.
March 21: Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction: What is stress and how do we recognize it in our bodies. This workshop explores how practicing mindfulness can change neural pathways in our brains, allowing us to recognize stress in real time and respond in healthy ways.
March 28: Strategies for Better Sleep: In this workshop we will cover why sleep is important, what happens when we don’t get enough sleep/quality sleep, the negative impact of stress on sleep, five strategies to improve sleep, and how to create a “sleep sanctuary.”
April 4: Mindful Leader: how to integrate the practice of mindfulness into everyday life: effective communication, focus, clarity, creativity, and compassion, as well as how to listen and respond to people mindfully. Improve your relationships with your partner, your children and your coworkers by learning mindful communication.
April 11: Practicing Gratitude: Creating a gratitude practice can strengthen your immune system, lower your blood pressure, help you sleep, improve your mood and your response to chronic pain. Through easy practices, such as keeping a gratitude journal, writing letters of thanks and meditating we can bring joy back into our lives.
April 18: Self-Compassion: Are you kinder to others than you are to yourself? Research shows the benefits of being a friend to yourself, and is a critical practice in the cultivation of resilience during stressful times in your life. Reviewing the work of Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer we will discuss the benefits of mindful self-compassion and easy tools to help you improve your relationship with yourself.
This is a 6-class series being held on Thursdays, 6pm-7pm at the Court House Library on the above dates.
All registrants are required to attend the first class of a series. If absent, your spot will be given to the next in line on the Waitlist.
